Feminists Against Censorship is pleased to announce
our fifth book, a collection of essays by women about our
experience of pornography.
TALES FROM THE CLIT Unlike our previous books, which have tended to review the arguments and the research around pornography, this book's personal essays reveal how a variety of women see pornography in their own lives. Anti-porn campaigners claim that all women are harmed, offended and degraded by pornography. Feminists Against Censorship has long responded that censorship itself does those things. Now, our diverse members and contributors talk about what porn really means to them as women and as individuals. Prostitutes, porn stars, academics, writers of erotic fiction, social commentators, feminist and gay activists, mothers and daughters, however they identify themselves, they have many and varied stories to tell. These are just a few. With contributions from: Cherie Matrix, Jen Durbin, Arabella Mellville, Meera Dharan, Deborah Ryder, Annie Sprinkle, Carol Queen, Nettie Pollard, Linzi Drew, Val Langmuir, Tuppy Owens, Avedon Carol, Jan Grossman, Sue Raye, Lucy Williams, Helen Ryles, Rowan Green, Christobel MacKenzie, Marcelle Perks, Anna Lynn Tercourse, Georgina Haynes, Lesley Ann Sharrock, Marisa Carr, Carol Leigh (Scarlot Harlot) and Caroline Bottomley.
