Feminists Against Censorship is unfunded by any government, church, or industry, unlike our opposition. We pay for most of our operations out of our own pockets and the receipts from public meetings, along with the royalties from our books. But anti-censorship work doesn't rake in money, so we welcome donations from our members and supporters. If you would like to help us continue fighting for free expression and civil liberties, send your donations to:
Feminists Against Censorship
One reason we don't have funding is that we refuse to temper our message to suit the purposes of others who may find the anti-censorship position only partly convenient. Lots of people want to say they are for free speech, but suddenly find they don't support the free speech they don't like. And that, friends, is not supporting free speech. We believe that even people we don't like should be able to say what they think.
But if you really want to support freedom of expression, we are here to stand up for it, and we can always use your help.
Please send cheques in sterling if possible; the cost of depositing checks from other countries is high (around $15.00 US) and we'd rather spend every penny we get on doing our work.
You don't get much from being a FAC supporter - occasional news and announcements, perhaps a drink with us if you're in the neighbourhood, and the warm feeling that maybe you're doing a little something to spread the good word - but your support is always appreciated.
