VINCENT, Paul (1957 - )
UK fan active between 1981-1984, though attended several Novacons
and Brum Group meetings during the period 1976-1980 prior to
becoming active. Member of BSFG (Brum Group) 1981-1984.
Was co-founder of MiSFiTs with Martin Tudor and Steve Green,
adopting lifelong mantle of "Chief Big Eg".
First Contact: Work colleague persuaded me to attend
a Brum Group meeting. First contact
with world of fanzines occurred when
I *bought* a copy of FoRTH Group's
groupzine at Novacon 10 - Owen
Whiteoak tracked me down as the strange
person who'd actually paid for their zine.
First loc ensued early 1981.
First Con: Novacon 6, Royal Angus Hotel, Birmingham
Concoms: Novacon 13 (Film Programme)
Novacon 14 (Treasurer)
(Was early co-opted into Peter Weston's
plot for what became 1987 Worldcon.
Survival instincts led to early dropout
before bid committee was formed).
Fanzines: ABDUMP (1983-84). 4 issues.
Fanwriting: Pieces appeared in Shallow End, Still It Moves,
A Cool Head, The FoRTH Groupzine, Empties,
and maybe one or two faded from memory.

produced 3 issues of PRETTY VACANT.
Online: Occasional interjections on rec.arts.sf.fandom.
